Let’s face it, we spend more money on beauty products than we care to admit. But can you blame us? It’s like every day they release another new beauty product that we can’t wait to get our hands on – like the recently released Fenty Beauty line. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was one magical ingredient that could do wonders for our already complex beauty/skin care routine?

By this point, everyone knows of the greatness of coconut oil. If you can buy a gallon of it at Costco, you probably know it has value. If you haven’t been taking advantage of all the benefits of coconut oil, or just need new ideas for incorporating it into your daily beauty routine, here are some ideas for you.

If you’re looking for coconut oil be sure to check out UrthMarket.

DIY Natural Deodorant

A post shared by Dr. Bronner’s (@drbronner) on

Let’s face it, store-bought deodorant is the worst. It smells bad and irritates our skin (probably all those chemicals we can’t pronounce, let alone spell). So, why not make your own? All you need to make this DIY deodorant is coconut oil, shea butter, baking soda, arrowroot, and essential oils – click here for the full recipe.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Who here doesn’t want better, younger looking skin? Mix 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of sugar to make an exfoliator that will leave your skin glowing.

DIY Face Mask

Simply mix equal parts coconut oil and raw honey. Apply to your face and let it sit there for a few minutes, and rinse with warm water.

Coconut Oil Is A Great Natural Shaving Cream

Not much to say here. Simply rub some on your legs before shaving and you’ll notice that your skin will feel softer (and it won’t be irritated) after you shave. Why did we just find out about this now?

It’s A Natural Lip Balm

True, we love the cold weather because we can wear more layers. However, we don’t love those cold weather induced dry lips. Want an easy fix? Simply rub some coconut oil on your lips. If you prefer, you can make your own lip balm. Simply mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ¾ teaspoon of honey.
