Fall In Love With Life Again At The Stanford Inn

Over 30 years ago, Joan and Jeff Stanford set out on the mission to create a place that would enliven and inspire people. That dream came to fruition with The Stanford Inn. Located in stunning Mendocino, a quaint little town in northern California, the Stanford Inn is the only all-vegan, eco-resort in North America.

This stunning wood lodge, overlooking Mendocino Bay equipped with 41 rooms is the perfect place to disappear for a few days to completely relax and rejuvenate. The buildings are eco-friendly and rooms include bamboo flooring, sustainably-based bedding, and earth-happy decor. All rooms have a private deck, so you can have a relaxing morning sipping fair-trade coffee soaking in the beautiful northern California views. Or, if the chill from the sea is too strong, you can sit inside and warm up your toes in front of a real wood burning fireplace.

During the day, if you aren’t having a lie-in, you can take part in some of the life-enhancing experiences available at the resort. Joan and Jeff created a holistic and Integrated wellness center as a part of the resort, directed by  Sid Garza-Hillman (author of Approaching the Natural: A Health Manifesto). At the center, you can enjoy a massage, take a yoga class, or take a private class in cooking, gardening, sparking creativity, and nutrition. You can also go on an outdoor adventure in the beautiful California landscape by renting a canoe or a bike. With so much to do, it can be quite overwhelming to choose which activity to do first. Which is why we highly recommend selecting a package like the “Fall in Love with Life” special, with which you will experience all of the best aspects of the inn and truly will re-fall in love with life (and probably your partner if you go with them). If you do happen to fall so deeply in love with your partner while at the inn, you are in luck! Jeff is a reverend and can officiate weddings *winky face*.

Whether you lay in bed all day, dig in the dirt while on a “foraging and nature” tour, or go for a long bike ride, you are sure to work up quite the appetite. When this happens, be sure to head to the gourmet, vegan restaurant on the premises, called Ravens Restaurant. Committed to sustainable living, Ravens serves dishes which include locally harvested, all organic products. In fact, if you take a gardening class, you may find a plant you harvested to be amongst your dinner, as a lot of the produce is grown on-site at the Big River Nurseries. Because the food is dependent on what is growing and available, Ravens always offers something different, whether it is seaweed or chanterelles. Even if you are not usually on a vegan diet, you are sure to appreciate the quality of the food, gorgeous setting, and passion of the Ravens chef and team.

Absolutely everything at this eco-friendly resort promotes sustainable living, from the ten acres of organic gardening to the non-toxic, environmentally safe cleaning supplies used after your stay. Although you will not want to leave, when you inevitably have to, you will depart feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and healthier than ever before.

Can’t wait to stay at the vegan resort? Same here. Which is why we, in partnership with UrthBox and Stanford Inn, are giving away a 5-day getaway to one lucky winner and a friend of their choice!

How to enter:
