Remember mood rings? Those silver rings that would change color depending on your mood, at least they were supposed to. Ours always seemed to be stuck on black, not sure…
We have at least one wedding invitation in our mailbox, and we’re sure it’s only the first of many we’ll receive in the coming months. It’s official, event season is upon us. Instead of letting others pull us into their plans, we decided to be the boss of our calendar and plan a trip of our own. Not just any trip, though, a girls trip. Even though girls trips get made fun of so often, we can think of several reasons why they are crucial in our lives.
Our everyday lives can get hectic. Juggling work, school, and fitness is hard enough without having to try and balance friendships too. Planning these trips, even just once a year gives us and all our girls some much-needed bonding time. Being able to check in with each other keeps our friendships strong and helps us tackle our everyday lives with renewed gusto.
No one’s got our backs like our friends do! They see all of our best qualities and give us the confidence to take risks. Spending time with our lady squad seriously boosts our self-esteem. They remind us how smart and talented we are, how any guy would be lucky to date us and how well our new Kate Spade bag compliments our wardrobes.
Sometimes we get so busy that we forget our goals. That’s where our friends come in. Seeing our BFF pursuing a new career or hobby reminds us that we still have goals we want to achieve. Those positive vibes are exactly what we need to get through even the worst of Mondays.
A convenient bonus for group trips are the discounts. Package deals or all-inclusive destinations mean saving dollars to spend on other things. What’s that phrase again? The more the merrier.
Okay, we’ll admit that we don’t always take the time to be grateful for what we have. It’s easier to think about who has it better but honestly, having a group of friends is a huge blessing – the trip is just a bonus. Being away from all the stress and work reminds us to appreciate just how good life is.
